Here at Mocha, we have struck up a partnership with learning disability charity, Mencap to increase quality applications to their job vacancies across the country, through their recruitment programme.
Working alongside Mencap’s in-house recruitment team, we have been supporting them to market job roles in specific areas to try and encourage people to work within the care industry or to attract those already working within care to join Mencap.
There is an urgent need within Mencap for caring people to join their team of brilliant support workers across the country who provide vital support for those living with a learning disability. In part thanks to the deadline for mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for care workers, thousands of care home staff have lost their jobs in recent months, with official NHS figures expected to show that more than 50,000 current care staff have not recorded having had both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Of these, several thousand are understood to have been self-certified as medically exempt or have applied for formal proof.
Now, facing competition from the likes of retail giant Amazon who are offering up to £3000 signing-on bonuses for new recruits, it has never been tougher for the care sector to recruit quality talent. Unsurprisingly this combination of factors has caused a huge issue across the sector, especially as NHS care home staffing levels are already at an all-time low.
Utilising digital marketing techniques, we have been able to help Mencap reach the right people for their care roles. This has been achieved by creating targeted ads that appear when certain search terms and location criteria are met.
